Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on our world
This project seeks to position the GCRO as a thought-leader on understanding the applications and ethical considerations of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the context of urban data science and biomedical fields. The team seeks to propose guidelines for the ethical and productive use of AI within a research space while also writing thought-leadership pieces on understanding the ethical bounds of AI within both the societal and bioethical spaces. This includes contributing to a panel discussion. This project also seeks to assess the limitations of different Large Language Model (LLM) tools such as ChatGPT, Deepseek, Claude and MS Co-pilot by testing various input scenarios and also looking for differences in their responses as well as the validity (benchmarked against external data) of outputs. It would be interesting to compare these outputs to a closed LLM system found at the University of Edinburgh to assess the quality of the training data (public versus private).
Intended outputs include AI Panel Discussions, Op-Eds and a Rapid Research Report
